The contruction blitz Phase 2

Ok, so after a few days of demolition the old restaurant building is now ready to be rebuilt! All of the old roofing materials are at the new shed site. In the top photo, we could see the old roofing and lattice work. In the middle shot, things are slowly being destroyed, in the bottom shot same area but all opened up with a view from the side! Chris and Clark are now building the framing for the new walls. We'll put up a couple more pictures soon about the progress of this building!

pics of the old building and the new toy!

So as I mentionned in the last post, we are restructuring the old restaurant building, something like restaurent makeover but jungle style! Here are some of the highlights of the old building!

The top picture is going to be the future library building, the picture on the bottom will be the location of the future restaurant building!!! Hard to believe but true! You just wait and see!!!

One of new purchases was a power washer, which is our new favourite tool! Here I am blasting the library room to start making it look like something nice!

The contruction blitz

Ok, sorry for the delay1 Lot's has happened but the most important is that my great mother sent us cell phone booster and we now have phone service in the house and we now also have some decent internet. Which means that we will be able to do alot updates from now on!

So Vanessa's dad and uncle are now at the station and we they are helping us tremendously in completely restructuring the old restaurant building! This building was used as a restaurant in the early 80's and the building has barely been used since! The first step was to remove the scorpions and other creatures from the building. We thought we would see at least one snake in there but luckiliy for us and the family none were found! There was a nice juvenile Jesus Christ lizard that Vanessa found in one of the rooms.

There are no dull moments at the station!

Intro to the place - Phase 1

I figured it was now time to introduced to Ecorana station to all of you as we are slowly getting set to be a station! We now have are house all set-up, our vehicles up and running (with the regular visit to the mecanicos) and are now working on up-grading the restaurant- student lounge area!

In the pictures posted here we can see the improved house with its vibrant tropical colours and the vehicles. Living up in the rain forest we both had to equip ourselves with the latest in new top vehicles, at least belize style, an 84 and a 94 toyota, they are doing the job just right for us at the moment!

Bonne Année, Happy New Year!

We are sorry again for the little delay in Blogging! We have had our families over for Christmas time and new years! After a little adjustment to the jungle, rain, bugs, and an nontraditional Christmas feeling, our families have survived and really enjoyed the Holidays in the sun!

We hope everyone had a very merry Christmas with friends and family. As 2011 appears to have been a year of transition for many of us, we wish you all a very merry 2012! We wish you all the best of luck and best of wishes to all!

as we say in french Bonne année grand nez!
